Red States and Blue States
Can someone please explain this to me?
In the old days I thought "Red" was bad, as in "left-wing pinko, red-ass Commie bastards." Red, white and blue was good.
Then along came Ronald Reagan and helped get rid of the pink, red-ass Commie bastard Evil Empire. Now our biggest enemy is Al Qaeda, and I don't think they really have a color (maybe green?).
But then, with today's nomenclature, wouldn't Ronald Reagan be considered "Red?" And Democrats, who traditionally have been considered left-wing pinkos are now "Blue?"
I just don't get it. Who's idea was it to switch it all around and confuse the issue?

Yeah, this bugs me too. Red has always been the color of revolution, and blue the color of loyalty. To use a dog analogy, they really screwed the pooch when they did the red state/blue state thing.
